Hi all,
2004 has been an interesting year for us out here on the West Coast. Our financial situation has been improved thanks to Denise's continuing hard work and Social Security's finally stepping up for me. This was the first Christmas that we weren't strapped in a number of years. The lack of the attendant stress was great! We didn't go nuts, but at least we could have Christmas.
As the attached pictures show, I bought a vehicle. I haven't had one since 2001. It's a 2002 Ford Escape XLT--that means it's loaded with options. Denise also bought a car because her Eclipse has become unreliable. We're going to shelve the Eclipse for a while until we figure out what's the best thing to do with it. Denise bought a new 2005 Toyota Celica GT, also loaded with options. She loves it.
The attached pictures also include a shot of when I was beardless for a couple of months. I grew the beard back since. Just couldn't get used to the naked face thing.
The day after Christmas, Heather, Bailey and Anique came over. As they were leaving, Alex and Soulea came by as well. It was great to see them all. Funny thing about kids--they grow when they're fed! My grandchildren are growing up. Cute as all getout.
I'm grateful for all the support you've all shown through the years when I was not doing very well. I'm taking pains to ensure that the efforts you expended on my behalf were not wasted. There are framed documents beginning to occupy the wall of my office space that show a road map of things accomplished since I came home.
Both cats are doing well--Tigerlily has become accustomed to the fact she no longer has a tail (we had to have it amputated because she smashed it in something while she was outside--pretty traumatic experience for all of us), Josie--our newcomer--is a pistol. She's pretty, soft, loving, and has a wild streak. She makes a good addition in that she keeps Tigerlily on her toes (the chase games, etc.).
In 2005, I plan to visit the East Coast--most likely around the end of July. I'm looking forward to seeing all of you!
Love,
Hans
