The past school year has just flown by
It seems like yesterday we were in middle school for the first time

We started in August and worked till June
Always hoping that vacation was coming soon

We all learned a lot in this past year
Some of us had to struggle and even shed a tear

In SS we learned about countries and seas
In Science we got to dissect bees

During Gym we had to run a mile
We always came out of Art wearing a smile

In Shop we got to use the drill
In Music we worked on our keyboarding skills

In Home Ec we learned how to sew and cook
During Literature we were always reading a good book

During this year we have gone through some tough times
Always remembering to hold our chins high

We’ve made new friends and kept the old
But what we have learned this year is worth much more than gold
