About Me
A Journey to Health

For years I have been overweight and one Sat morning in September I happened to view an infomericial about an eating program that I never would have thought could change my life. It was on the spur of the moment that I decided to call the number and order Michael Thurmond's six week makeover, hell there was a guarantee to lose 30 pounds in six weeks or your money back...I had nothing to lose but the weight.
With over 100 pounds to lose I knew that this journey would be a long one and it had to start with the first step.

Update:
It has been over a year since I started this journey, I have lost 125 pounds(one pound under my original goal).  I have been on maintenance a little over 5 weeks and I feel great.
This year has been incredible,so many wonderful things occurred. My DI team that I coached, won the right to compete at world competition in Tenn, my son graduated from college and is now attending McGill University for his Masters, our children gave us a surprise 25 th anniversary party, and I was part of an infomercial giving a testamonial regarding Michael Thurmond's Six Week Body Makeover.  That involved flying out to LA and then the crew came to New Hampshire and did some on location filming.
I have gone from a size 24-26 to a size 4-6, I exercise 6-7 times a week, which includes jogging for an hour at a time, and best of all I like who and what I am!
January 2005 :

Well it has been awhile since I updated the about me section of my webpage.  I am going to be 49 next month and I started this webpage when I was 45. I have been married for 27 years and have two children. John is engaged and living in Vermont working for IBM and has his own band.  When I first wrote he was in college...wow time does fly.

Kara is now in her first year of college at Tulane University majoring in Chemical Engineering.  It was quite an adjustment for all of us...but has turned out to be a great decision.

Ed and I are now emptynesters and getting used to it.  I left school nursing in June of 2003 and started my own nursing agency that deals with medically fragile children in schools.  I am loving it.

I still work for Provida as a body makeover specialist and have been in their last two infomercials. Life is good.

And so the day came........when the risk to remain a tight bud was more painful than the risk it took to blossom
