Challenges....this weekend was full of them!  It
started Saturday, when my hubby wanted to go out to one of his favorite restaurants and I knew that this particular restaurant
did not have food that would allow me to keep to being 100 percent on plan.  I thought  about saying, lets go elsewhere,
but then felt that Ed has made many concessions due to my lifestyle.  He supports me willingly and without fail. When
I am not eating on plan, he does not  question, nor does he criticize.  When I am on plan he bends over backwards
to help me continue to be so.  There are many days that I have thought how lucky am I, to have him to share my life with...he
                           is a peach.
So I  decided that I could order a large plain salad,
and bring a potato and my chicken and salsa and add it to the salad.  All the years I have been living this lifestyle
I have never brought my on plan food to a restaurant..but I knew this would be the best solution for me.  I did so and
really enjoyed my meal and felt pretty smug about it.
This Sunday was superbowl Sunday and we were invited to
a superbowl party that was starting with tailgating.  The off plan food and drink would be flowing right through the
game. I had read online this week that the average amount of calories consumed by a superbowl watcher was 1200 calories...
that is more calories than I eat in a day.
So I thought about it and came up with a game plan.
Ed had some work that needed to be done and decided that he wouldnt be able to go to the party but didn't mind if I went.
I decided to go over and join the tailgate part of the
party and leave before the game started.  So I brought my  on plan snack, and a couple of bottles of water and went
                           to the party.
I had a great time chatting with everyone and when it
came time to eat my snack, I did just that.  I have learned over the years, that no one really cares, what your eating
or when.  I drank my water and before the game I left and went home and cooked an on plan meal .  Ed and I watched
                           the game together.
My "team" may not have won, but I woke up this morning
with the sweet taste of victory for a weekend well spent.   Think it through....find a solution that works... and
                           go for it!
